Pandion SoundWeavers
A music mentorship program for Los Angeles teens to foster lifelong involvement in music through collaboration and wellness.
SoundWeavers 2025 will launch this summer, running on Wednesdays (9am – 12pm) from June 18 – August 13 with a culminating performance on August 16.
If you or your child are interested in applying, click the button below to access the application.
Any high school-age student is welcome to apply, but priority will be given to first generation students from
marginalized communities.
Pandion SoundWeavers is a new high-impact initiative offering 9 weeks of 3-hour weekly classes for high school-age students from under resourced and marginalized communities in Los Angeles. Centered around experiential learning, professional mentors will guide fellows in understanding and building the foundations of a meaningful life in music. Hosted at Earthstar Creation Center in Venice, CA, students will graduate with 2 professionally-recorded songs, access to Pandion’s larger online community, and completion of a culminating showcase performance for friends and family. Other outcomes of the program will include tools for reducing anxiety, stress, and combating the pressures of a life in music to help sustain students on their musical journeys over a lifetime.
Music is the very fabric of creators’ lives and a touchstone
for a society.
With rising industry pressures, systemic inequities, a lack of financial support, a growing mental health crisis among musicians, and the defunding of music education in schools, the dream of building a life in music is becoming increasingly out of reach for many talented young people.
In the wake of the LAUSD school district law suit for the misuse of $80 million dollars in arts funding, “parents of the plaintiffs issued a joint statement about the suit, calling art and music education essential for their children to develop the skills they need in the classroom, in their careers and
throughout their lives (Flay, 2025).“
At Pandion, we believe that an artist’s resilience is built on community, collaboration, and wellness.
Pandion SoundWeavers will demonstrate the importance of these three elements for young people entering the
world of music.
“Growing horizontally – by that I mean alongside your peers – allows you to grow an ecosystem and develop a language of communication that is rooted in trust, collaboration and a shared vision. This brings together a sort of existential peace as well as professional longevity. Grow the community, not just yourself. It’s just more fun that way too!”

Pandion SoundWeavers will…
Provide youth music education in a time when government powers continue to uproot the U.S. education system and cut music and arts funding.
Focus on group collaboration and wellness in an era of technology where individualism and high costs of leading a music career are contributing to a decline in bands and music groups.
Support young people in growing their artist identity and expression–empowering the next generation in a landscape where current societal structures like high costs of touring, little to no pay for recording artists, and lack of funding send the message that music careers are unsupported and devalued.
Uplift young musicians from under-resourced and marginalized communities in a time when women, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC creators still face systemic barriers to accessing opportunities in the music industry.
Inspired by the success of our Pandion Music Foundation Teen Camp in 2024, we recognized the potential to continue nurturing new generations of creators. With our SoundWeavers structure and curriculum, we hope to build a template that can be offered to schools districts across California, the U.S., and beyond.
Pandion believes our commitment to this focused model will result in an experiential, proven package that will be ready for expansion.
Through partnerships with a variety of contributors ranging from individual donors to corporate sponsors, we are offering supporters the opportunity to be part of a journey that will build lasting impact in the lives of teens through access to music, wellness, and community.
